Chronic disease (e.g. obesity, type 2 diabetes, mental health disorder) pose complex challenges to global healthcare 24-hr movement behavior and poor dietary choices are key modifiable risk factors for chronic diseases Cost-effective, practical and scalable interventions are needed – can Apps help here?

A recent Meta-Meta Analysis summarized  – 47 meta-analyses (n=507 RCTs; 206,873 participants). – Interventions included  mobile apps, web-based and SMS interventions, focussing on physical activity, diet, sleep, or multiple behaviours
